Catalog description

Whether it’s synthetic plastics and rubbers that surround us, or natural occurring biopolymers such as proteins and DNA that are fundamental to biological structure, polymers are ubiquitous in almost every part of our lives. This course will focus on the design, synthesis and characterization techniques of polymers while emphasizing their applications. Special topics such as biological applications of polymers and the recyclability of plastics will be highlighted. Prerequisites & Notes Chemistry 250
