Catalog description

Environmental health focuses on the factors external to people that have health implications. This seminar focuses on those environmental factors that have disproportionate effects on subgroups of individuals-Environmental Health Disparities. Developing skills in content and critical analysis we will exploring the intersection between cell biology, public health, and the environment. Broad topics include regional and global examples investigating air quality, water quality, and exposure to environmental chemicals. Satisfies depth or breadth course requirement in Natural Science Track of the Environmental Studies major or interdisciplinary minor. Satisfies Public Health major and minor requirement. Satisfies the Justice, Equality, and Community requirement Prerequisites & Notes Prerequisite: Successful completion of BIO 111, BIO 113, BIO115, ENV101, or ENV 201 is required. Successful completion of CHE 115 and at least one 200+ Biology course is recommended Students with credit for CHE 372 or who are currently enrolled in CHE372 may not enroll in BIO267
