History of Medicine

Catalog description

Students will discover the evolution of medicine and therapies using interdisciplinary readings that give a global perspective. Emphasis will be placed throughout on marginalized, underrepresented, or disadvantaged individuals and communities often overlooked, mischaracterized, or worse, utilized unethically under the guise of the advancement of medical science. Students will complete an independent project to address current inequality or pseudoscience in medicine. Satisfies Justice, Equality and Community requirement.
