Catalog description

BIO115 is an introductory biology course that explores life at molecular, genetic, and cellular levels. This course emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of modern biology and how it engages society, focusing on evolution and its intersections with cellular communication mechanisms, bioenergetics, and the passage of genetic information. Students will develop skills in laboratory research methods, critical thinking, data interpretation, quantitative analysis, and communication while exploring social and ethical implications of biological knowledge.All students are welcome in BIO115. BIO115 and BIO116 may be taken in any order. BIO115 is not open to students with credit for BIO111 or BIO113. Satisfies the Natural Science requirement
