Catalog description

Introduction to the theories and methods necessary for making ethnographic films. Students will conduct fieldwork and make a documentary film on a particular aspect of social and cultural behavior. Emphasis is placed on developing the critical skills needed for resolving some of the ethical, technical, and aesthetic problems that may emerge during the documentation of social and cultural behavior. One of the courses satisfying the Methods requirement for the major and minor in Anthropology. Satisfies a requirement in the Communication Studies interdisciplinary major and minor. Prerequisites & Notes (Offered in alternating years.)
