This course provides an analysis of the current professional environment and the role of the respiratory therapist in the long-term care setting. Students will be required to interview a homecare respiratory therapist. Class topics include: Assessment of the homecare patient, respiratory care of the elderly, and geriatric assessment. Additional topics include pulmonary rehabilitation and disease management. Prerequisite: RRT Credential and acceptance into the Bachelor of Science program.
