Provides practical experience for students interested in a career in writing, editing, and/or interpersonal communication. Through real-world projects and professional work, students will apply writing, editing, and/or communication skills relevant to their major in a specific, real-world project. Students must apply for the internship during the semester prior to the intended internship experience. Student interns work for an average of 10 hours per week under the supervision of a professional in the Dalton, Chattanooga, and/or Northwest Georgia area. Repeatable for a maximum of 6 credit hours. Prerequisite: 3.0 GPA or higher and 15 hours of upper-level English courses, including English 3030 (Technical Writing).
