An exploration of the basic unit of living organisms. Study of the structure and function of cellular structures with emphasis on the unifying nature of cell membrane systems, cellular energetics, motility and transport intercellular interactions, cellular communication, and cell division. Laboratory experiences introduce basic cytological study techniques. (F,S) Prerequisite: BIOL 1108K, CHEM 1212K. Corequisite: CHEM 3211K.
