Term hours: 54 lecture. This course is an in depth exploration of Silent Film Genre. The film genre identified as the first attempt at narrative storytelling using the film medium was popularized during the first three decades of the 20th Century. The course covers the history, technology and productions from the original silent era and continues into the contemporary era where silent film has experienced a rebirth. (UC/CSU, AA GE, CalGETC)
