C Elementary French I

Term hours: 90 lecture. This course focuses on the acquisition of the four skills in language learning: listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. Included are the basics of French pronunciation and regional varieties of French. Students will be introduced to the culture, customs, history, and geography of the French-speaking world. Students will develop cultural understanding and linguistic proficiency for elementary social communication through conversation practice; reading, listening, writing exercises; and discussions of cultural readings. Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass option. (UC/CSU, AA GE).
