Catalog description

Term hours: 54 lecture. This course focuses on the contemporary issues, major characteristics, and significant contributions of the Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x communities in the United States. Utilizing theoretical frameworks and methodologies from Ethnic Studies, Chicana/o/x Studies, and Latina/o/x Studies, an interdisciplinary approach will be used to analyze contemporary sociological topics affecting Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x communities, including, but not limited to, immigration, education, politics, gender and sexuality, social welfare, criminal justice, religion, and the family. (UC/CSU, AA GE, CalGETC).
