Catalog description

(formerly: ENGL C1000 College Writing) Term Hours: 72 lecture. In this course, students receive instruction in academic reading and writing, including writing processes, effective use of language, analytical thinking, and the foundations of academic research. English C1000 is a college level course in written communication. It is designed to develop reading, critical thinking, and writing strategies necessary for academic success. The emphasis is on writing expository essays. The course requires the use of research and documentation skills. Duplicate credit not granted for ENGL C1000H. (UC Credit Limitation/CSU, AA GE, Cal-GETC, C-ID:ENGL 100).
