Term hours: 54 lecture. The course is an introduction to the major works of William Shakespeare. The emphasis is on thematic development, critical analysis, poetic devices, and historical context within selected comedies, histories, and tragedies. Students will develop an understanding of Shakespeare's works from diverse perspectives. Duplicate credit not granted for ENGL 234HC . (UC Credit Limitation/CSU, AA GE, CalGETC).
