Term Hours: 54 lecture. This course is a survey of the literature of American writers from 1865 to the present. It is designed to increase understanding and appreciation of the development of American culture and literary achievements. A diversity of writings will be included to reflect the various subjects and styles that comprise the development of American Literature. (UC/CSU, AA GE, CalGETC, C-ID:ENGL 135)
