Term hours: 54 lecture. This course is a critical study of film that will develop critical thinking and writing skills. Students will study the elements of filmmaking and the historical development of film. Film as a story telling art form will be emphasized. Ten to twelve films will be shown in class for analysis and discussion. Students will be expected to watch and study several additional films outside of class. Duplicate credit not granted for ENGL 125HC . (UC Credit Limitation/CSU, AA GE, CalGETC).
