This course examines issues and trends related to community and global health with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. Key topics include culture, the environment, communicable, and noncommunicable diseases and their impacts on health. Vulnerable populations including women and children are discussed, along with the unique health disparities faced by these groups. Opportunities for nurses to work in global health are explored.
