Catalog description

Learn photography basics for filmmakers through the completion of photo essays. Project-based learning leads to understanding how camera settings, lighting, picture composition, and lenses create a variety of results. Navigate challenges specific to working on location and with people. Practice lighting people and actors in a variety of environments to communicate story and subtext. Covers safe and proper handling of a variety of lighting instruments and light modifiers. Explore montage theory, picture composition, basic visual effects and primary color correction. Prepares students for service learning opportunities with a special focus on photography and photographic roles in film.
