The course highlights both the cultural and linguistic aspects of translation while students learn to solve the specific challenges posed by translating from Spanish into English. Students will carry out intensive practice of the concepts, methods, and techniques learned in the program’s Stucore courses and apply them to texts in a variety of academic and professional fields such as journalism, advertising, business, tourism, etc. An important focus will be on analysis of the source text and the choices involved in rendering the most appropriate translation for the intended purpose and target audience.
