Catalog description

Approaches for individualizing early childhood curriculum to meet the needs of young children with diverse abilities in classrooms, homes, and community settings will be explored. The processes of assessment, planning including IFSP and IEP development, and implementation for tiered supports of adaptations, modifications, and embedded learning strategies will be emphasized, including teaming across early childhood disciplines. The evolution of laws, regulations, and inclusive practices to current early intervention (EI) and early childhood special education (ECSE) recommended practices through a social justice lens will provide the underlying framework of these approaches.
