Math Literacy and Nemeth Code for Teachers of Learners with Visual Impairments

Catalog description

Knowledge and skills needed to transcribe mathematical and scientific print material into braille using the Nemeth Code for Braille Mathematics in Unified English Braille (UEB) context at the elementary and secondary school levels; strategies and tools used to supplement access to mathematics instruction for students who are blind or visually impaired, including use of the Cranmer abacus and the design and production of tactile graphics. A particular emphasis will be placed on using assistive technology with math content.
