Assistive Technology for Learners with Visual Impairments

Catalog description

Course provides students with hands-on experiences with assistive technology options for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Software and Hardware includes: electronic magnifiers, speech access software, speech synthesizers, scanning devices, Braille translation software, portable readers, Braille notetakers, and adaptive materials such as tactile graphics. In addition, students will learn a variety of methods for the acquisition of digital and hardcopy materials for both large print and braille.
