Field experience is the first semester of a core yearlong interactive field experience in the Deaf Education program at Hunter College. Off-sitesupervised placements, providing intensive specially designed instruction for Deaf Learners from preK -12. Teacher candidates learn to developspecialized reading instruction that is structured and sequential. In addition, teacher candidates learn to apply knowledge and skills aboutassessment, progress monitoring family, culture, and school relations into their instruction. Videotape and computer use are aspects of thecourse that will compliment coursework, seminars, and tutoring to build teacher candidates’ skills.• This Key Course requires a grade of B or better to pass.• Any student who receives a grade of F or WU in this class will not be permitted to continue in the program.• This course may be repeated only once.
