Examines the conceptual foundations of international relations and their application to current issues. Topics include: anarchy, power, war and peace, international cooperation, the role of the state and non-state actors, international institutions, norms and human rights, and the global economy. Transfer students may receive only 100-level credit for a course equivalent for POLSC 11500 after spring 2010, when POLSC 27000 becomes the prerequisite for most advanced courses in international relations..
