Catalog description
This course explores in depth the social, cultural and political factors that influence and lead to health disparities and health inequalities. The course examines demographic trends, mortality and morbidity, and the role of history, race, class, policy, and socioeconomic factors, and health literacy in the development and continuation of disparities in health. It also discusses the concept of social justice and its application to health, healthcare, and health disparities, and metrics used to measure progress toward achieving health equity.
