Catalog description

This is the ninth course in a series of eleven sequential nurse anesthesia courses for the Nurse Anesthesia/Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner student. This is the third integration and synthesis course that introduces the student advanced regional anesthesia and airway management knowledge and skills and pain management for interprofessional nurse anesthesia care to patients across the life span. Selected topics include collaborative decision making, team-based communication, planning and evaluation for patients requiring anesthesia for complex immune dysregulation conditions and procedures outside the operating room. With minimal guidance students assume greater responsibility for culturally sensitive, patient centric, interprofessional anesthesia care.
