This is the second course in a series of eleven sequential nurse anesthesia courses designed to provide the Nurse Anesthesia/Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner student with anesthesia pharmacological evidenced based knowledge for delivering anesthesia care to patients across the lifespan. This course explores theories and pharmacotherapeutic principles as they apply to anesthesia clinical nursing practice. Integration of pharmacological and pathophysiological concepts with a focus on the autonomic nervous system, synthesizing culturally sensitive pharmacological interventions in an interprofessional team to mitigate risk in anesthesia nursing practice.
