Introduction to Topological Data Analysis

Catalog description

This course is a one-semester introduction to topological data analysis (TDA). TDA is the application of methods of algebraic topology, speci¿cally homology theory, to the analysis of data. By thinking of a data cloud as representing a topological space, certain invariants of the space that are de¿ned using homology groups are used to make statistical inferences.
