Catalog description

The science of geography uses an earth systems approach and geographic concepts of place, space, scale, location, regions, and borders to examine human-environment interactions. Students will study a broad range of topics, from plate tectonics and climate change to global patterns of population, culture, food security, urbanization, migration, and economy. The overarching emphasis will be on the relationships among these processes. In addition, students will learn how to interpret maps and become familiar with uses of geospatial technologies in research and many aspects of everyday life.
