Catalog description
Experimental methods of film and video production, emphasizing innovative and nontraditional formal and conceptual practice. This is a production course in which students will explore various experimental methods of film and video practice, including: the use of found footage; camera-less filmmaking; image processing; multiple projection and projection on non-standard surfaces; alternatives to continuity editing; and time duration in experimental media. Through extensive practical exercises, specific assignments, and brief weekly screenings, students will examine the various strands of experimental film and video practice and produce film and video work in repsonse.
