Catalog description

This course is an exploration of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and a pilgrimage of sorts in its own right considered the greatest medieval English poem by the greatest medieval English poet. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural, social, political, and religious contexts of the poem, to Middle English as a literary language, and to the use of new media in the exploration of old texts.
