Catalog description
This is the first of two methods courses for the Advanced Certificate in Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Structured Literacy. This course is focused on meeting the instructional needs of students with specific language based disabilities including dyslexia and dysgraphia. From this base, teachers should be able to make informed decisions regarding the implementation of a variety of literacy based teaching strategies for use with students who need explicit, direct instruction in reading and writing. - A grade of B or better is required to pass the course. - A grade of F results in dismissal from the program. - The course may only be repeated once.
