This course is organized to introduce you to the history of musical theatre in the United States with particular attention to the following inquiries: What is musical theatre? How did it evolve? What are the various creative teams in musical theatre? What is the position of musical theatre in society? It is my hope that this course will give you the means to discuss musical theatrical productions and traditions, and provide a basis for your future endeavors with this art form.
