Masterworks of the Golden Age

Catalog description

This course will cover some of the major authors, genres, and movements of the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque period. Readings will include masterpieces of poetry, theater, and prose and these works will be analyzed and discussed within the historical and social context of Early Modern Spain in its pursuit of imperial power.
