Catalog description

This course provides a broad overview of the psychological and the educational problems encountered by children and adults with learning disabilities during their inevitably altered developmental trajectory. While it is not a course in the neuropsychology of learning disabilities, some background is essential and will be covered in the presentation of the three syndromes to be covered. These syndromes are: (1) developmental language disorders, (2) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and (3) right hemisphere learning disorders. Diagnosis and evaluation are a central component of the course, and a case presentation format is used to flesh out our understanding of each disorder.
