Psychology of Music

Catalog description

This course will explore how music is tied to psychological and cultural processes, drawing from personality, social, and cross-cultural psychology. We will explore the biological basis for musical behavior. The course will draw on memory, language and cognitive psychology research to understand individual differences in musical ability and perception. Music in therapeutic treatment will be addressed.
