Catalog description
This course will introduce you to the captivating subject of psychology focusing on how people learn. It is a course that will allow you to not only learn about the theories of learning sciences but also the application of such theories into your real learning experience. Specifically, we will delve into the groundbreaking theories of Pavlov, Thorndike, Skinner, Piaget, Vygotsky, Chomsky, Lave, Wenger, and Mayer. Also, this course will cover the learning theories of empiricism, rationalism, behaviorism, nativism, constructivism, sociocultural theory, and situated cognition, including topics of cognitive development, instructional phenomenon, multimedia learning, game-based learning, and so on. The course is divided into units of theoretical and empirical research.
