Introduction to Disability Studies

In this course we will explore the concept of disability through a variety of theoretical lenses. We will start with historical concepts of disability as understood by the medical and psychiatric professions. We will then explore contemporary concepts of disability as a social construct and we will look at some research in the area of disabilities studies.
