In the United States, elections are the most consequential contexts for voters to influence their representatives. This course explores the mechanics, strategies, and effects of campaigns and elections in the United States at various levels. Students will examine how institutions such as primaries, electoral rules, and political parties shape candidate behavior, voter turnout, and competition. We will explore campaign finance, media and messaging, polling, and contemporary debates within Political Science on all things related to the subject.
