Political Ideologies: Left to Right

Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the main political ideologies that have marked the history of the past century: from anarchism, socialism and communism on the left, through republicanism a christian democracy, conservatism and fascism on the right. The approach will be both analytical and historical, in the sense that detailed textual analysis of theoretical works illustrative of these various schools of thought will be related to the concrete behavior of political actors and institutions that have appealed to them, both in Europe and the Americas.
