Evaluation in Healthcare Settings is a 6-credit service learning course in which students interact with community members around health and health care issues, providing service to people in different community settings over a 2-month period while expanding training in the areas of social determinants of health, health communication and advocacy, and professionalism. In addition, students complete a community project, which emphasizes how social, economic, and environmental factors influence the health of individuals, families and their communities
