Fundamentals and Applications of Microfluidics
CUNY City College · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
Advancements in micro-/nano-fabrication have created a new class of devices for precisely manipulating fluids. The resultant microfluidic devices provide useful platforms for chemical and biochemical analysis, material production, and a variety of physics and engineering studies. In this course, we discuss fluid flow and fluid characteristics in microchannels, micro-/nano-fabrication techniques for creating microfluidic devices, and applications to functional material production and biochemical analysis. Students have the opportunity to fabricate several simple devices.
