Catalog description
Emphasis divided evenly between reporting and writing. Students are encouraged to use a variety of writing techniques, including the setting of scenes and development of character, to strive to clarify public affairs for the public, to develop a sense of mass "audience," to aim for the ethical goals of fairness and balance in their work, and to develop a portfolio of quality work in journalism. Intended primarily for those specializing in journalism but open to other writers.
