This course covers the socio-economic and political origins of migration from the Dominican Republic to the United States, with an emphasis placed on New York City. the course also focuses on the impact that U.S. society has had on Dominicans i New York and in other parts of the country in areas such as employment, social mobility, ethnic relations, education, housing, family life, and politics.
