Catalog description

Long before humans adopted the belief in one male god, they worshipped many gods and goddesses. Throughout most of the world, for much of human history, the goddess reigned supreme. Even the early Israelites--the original monotheists--worshipped the divine feminine for centuries. In this course, we will explore the saga of the goddess, from her ancient roots to her demise at the hands of the biblical prophets and scribes. We will consider how her legacy lives on today, from secrets hidden within the pages of the Bible to divine feminine echoes found in figures such as Mother Mary.
