Catalog description

This course examines theories and case studies of decolonization in Africa throughout the twentieth century. This course will focus on key concepts, such as self-determination, sovereignty, and revolutionary violence that influenced national liberation movements. By exploring a variety of strategies and cases, including Egypt, Algeria, and Kenya, students will gain an understanding of the myriad forms and complexities of decolonization.
