Catalog description

Examines the interaction between state power and subaltern dissent and resistance and its impact on state and political formations in modern Latin America. Emphasis will be put on the analysis of the interplay between economic boom, social dislocations, and calls for political change informing the turn-of-the-century crises that mark the region's history since late 18th century.
