Catalog description

A country's nuclear weapons program represents both the scientific strength of the nation and the determination of the nation's political leaders. This course makes a comparative examination of the scientific and political issues associated with the nuclear weapons programs in the United States, the Soviet Union, and Asia. The goal of this course is to help students understand scientific developments and political conditions that were involved in these nations' decisions to make nuclear weapons.
