Management of Nonprofit Organizations

Approximately 1.56 million nonprofits were registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in 2015, an increase of 10.4 percent from 2005. 10 percent of the American workforce or 11.4 million jobs are in the nonprofit sector. In this course, students will learn about the unique skills that relate to managing a nonprofit enterprise. The course will include guest speakers who are executives with nonprofit organizations, site visits, and a class project to develop a business plan for a nonprofit.
