Catalog description

This ethics course will introduce integrity in scientific research. The topics include scientific misconduct (fabrication, falsification, plagiarism), authorship, writing lab notes, writing research articles, obtaining funding, developing intellectual property, job hunting, and professionalism. It will also discuss the societal impact of biotechnology, nanotechnology and information technology. 1 hour/week; 1 credit.
