Experimental Display Studies

Catalog description

This studio course explores how artworks are presented and experienced. Open to all media; we will think critically about how display shapes meaning and develop our understanding of how presentation functions. Through a series of guided assignments, students will engage in hands on material explorations that consider design, context, and presentation. Projects will consider everyday forms of display—how we frame, support, and bring attention to what we make. Students will present multiple projects that challenge familiar formats, and expand their approach to display as both a practical and conceptual tool for their own work.
